H1N1 and MS. Well, at least one has a treatment and a cure. Let's just hope it's not MS. ADEM is hardly better, but an auto-immune disorder that attacks the brain and has no cure whatsoever scares me. I can't imagine what my parents are going through going from one hospital room to another, watching test after test, waiting for conclusive results. When this new neurologist said that MS was so obvious to her, based on his MRIs in the past, I can't help but wonder what the other doctors we went to were thinking? Why didn't they tell us? She thinks his condition is active, deteriorating - not static. All this time we've been treating his behaviour as if the infection or whatever was over, and now we find out that he's still sick and has been and this disease has been causing untold damage to his brain in the years since his original diagnosis. Not to mentin when he was first sick, no one suspected a neurological cause in the months of his complete change in behavior, until he went ape-shit in basic training. Maybe we really should overhaul the medical system.

Vibrant lights die to live in the night sky
Flashes of color testament to their short lives
Bright bangs of red, blue, green, and gold
Sparkling flames against a backdrop of ink
A flare of light, a whistling scream
And then Pop!
An explosion of patriotic passion
Followed by a smoky plume
A hazy palmetto in the palmetto heavens
And by the time the aroma reaches you
That sweet, acrid, burning scent
The excitement has begun anew
Happy 4th of July!

So, I tried my hand at writing a Limerick...
And this is what I got:
Escoja
There once was a girl who couldn't choose
Which language she wanted to use.
Instead of a decision
She made it her mission
To use indecision as her muse.
Solution:
Había una niña que amaba
La lengua español y la tomaba
Mais Aujourd'hui elle veut
Parler le français surtout
Y mañana no sé que ella hablará.
This just in:
There once was a girl with some time
Which she spent on a bilingual rhyme
She forced it a bit
To make it all fit
And she hopes you forgive her that crime.
